Florence Marie Stauffer passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at the age of 93. She was born on August 10, 1917 in Mishawaka, Indiana. She had been residing at Columbia Ridge Assisted Living in Washougal for the past seven years and greatly enjoyed living there where she was able to be mobile and independent up to her death.
Florence served in Europe in the Women's Army Corps (WACS) during WWII as an aerial photo interpreter for the U.S. Army Air Corps. Florence was married to Hiram E. Stauffer for 52 years who served in the U.S. Air Force for 30 years and predeceased her in 1997.
Florence is survived by her daughter, Susan A. Stauffer of Vancouver, Washington, and son, Ronald E. Stauffer and his wife Vicki of Mineral, Virginia, along with three grandsons Eric A. Stauffer of Bethesda, Maryland, Craig A. Stauffer and Darren A. Stauffer of Arlington, Virginia.
There will be no public services. Interment will be held in Pennsylvania. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
