Hi Uncle Fred and families, I have thought of you all very much in the past weeks. It is so hard to believe that Aunt Marie won't be here anymore. I'm sorry I wasn't able to attend the funeral. My thoughts were continually with you through the day. In fact, I did hear a small part of it, b/c Doug dialed my phone number during one of the songs so I could hear it. Around the time that I was in 4th grade, I decided that Aunt Marie and I were going to exchange letters, so I wrote her a letter. She promptly wrote me back! We wrote back and forth for about a year. I remember the anticipation that I felt every time I checked the mailbox, starting about 2 days after I had mailed my letter to her. I still have all of those letters. What a good sport she was for taking the time to do that with me! Love, Janelle

Hi Kevin (and Fred, LaRay and Linda), I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. She was such a nice lady. I always admired the way that she would take the bus to work each day, but she would catch the bus all the way at the other end of our neighborhood so that she could get in a couple of good walks every day!

Dear Uncle Fred and cousins, We will all miss Aunt Marie very much. I will pray for you in these days and months ahead. I have wonderful memories of being at the cabin and at your home, and always enjoyed being with Aunt Marie. She had a wonderful smile and sense of humor, and was lots of fun to be around. What a wonderful life she lived, and a wonderful Christian legacy that continues in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren! Much love, Joan
