Obituary of Joyce Smith

Joyce Wilma Smith peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at her home in Vancouver. Born on August 7, 1927 in Custer, Oklahoma to James Harrison and Emma Lydia (Harrell) Collins; Joyce was 83 years old. A Vancouver resident for the last six years, Joyce was formerly of Modesto, California. She worked as a lab technician in the food processing industry, and was a member of the Fourth Plain Church of the Nazarene in Vancouver. Joyce enjoyed jewelry making, sewing, traveling, and most importantly spending time with her family and friends. Joyce is survived by her sons Larry Webb of Checotah, Oklahoma, Billy Mundy of Lindsay, Oklahoma, and Michael Smith of Hood River, Oregon; daughters Sue Antram of Vancouver, and Nancy Rust of Vancouver, thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. There will be a graveside service for Joyce on Saturday, April 9th at 2:00 pm at the Highland Cemetery in Okemah, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joyce's honor may be sent to the Fourth Plain Church of the Nazarene: 16807 Northeast Fourth Plain Road; Vancouver, WA 98682. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
