Obituary of Col. Harry Orvin Trip

Harry Orvin Trip passed away on December 31, 2014. He was 96 years old.
Harry was born on January 11, 1918 to his parents Tracy and Leta Trip, in Kent Ohio. He retired after 30 years as a Colonel in the U.S. Army, serving our country during World War 2, receiving a Victory Medal, Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, and European African Middle Eastern Battle Stars. He was truly a hero and deserves our utmost respect and gratitude.
Harry was a 25 year resident of Vancouver, Washington, working as a broker and real estate salesman. He was a 60 year member of Portland Scottish Rite, as well as Tigard Orenomah # 2071 A.F & A.M as well as a former member of Al Kader Temple of the Shrine.
Harry leaves behind his wife of 12 years, Marie Trip, his son Larry Trip, his 3 daughters Joane, Karen (husband Dennis) and Susan (husband Robert) 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 60 years, Ruth Trip, and daughter Beverly.
A celebration of Harry’s life will take place at 11:30 AM at Willamette National Cemetery, where full Military Honors will take place. A full funeral service will follow at Brown’s Funeral Home at 2PM.
