Obituary of Susan Lee Snyder

Susan L. Snyder, a Washougal resident for the past nineteen years, died Friday July 3rd in her home. She was 75 years old.
Mrs. Snyder was born on May 27, 1940 in Riverside, CA to her parents Darrell Runyan and Harriet Wheeler. Before retiring to Washington, she lived in Redondo Beach, CA for 32 years. She had worked as an elementary school aide for 20 years.
She is survived by her first husband of 13 years, Glendon Miller, their four daughters, Margaret and Erin Miller of Washougal, MaryAnne (Husband Campbell) Nimick of Torrance, CA, and Robin (Husband Steve) Cookus of Thousand Oaks, CA; her sister Nancy Sullivan of Washougal; sister-in-law Angela Runyan of Camas and Gloria Barrington of Old Fields, West Virginia, brothers Geoffrey and Timothy Wheeler of Central Point, OR, Patrick (wife Debra) Runyan of Great Falls, MT; and her six grandchildren, of whom she was very proud. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugo “Bill” Snyder, and her brother, Stephen Runyan.
She was a talented quilter and doll maker, and an awesome mom. She enjoyed travelling (especially cruises) gardening and meeting new people.
No services will be held. Memorials may be made in Susan’s name, for the use of Community Outreach, Washougal Corps., to The Salvation Army, 1500 NE 112th Avenue, Vancouver WA 98684.
