Coleen and I only saw each other a few times after high school, so my memories of her go back our teen years. One thing that stands out for me is how much she enjoyed children, always. There was an unusual connection there. She was always so beautiful and had what I call significant 'cool factor," but around young children she was instantly playful and engaging. I remember once at the fair watching her clamber on to a children's merry-go-round with a little kid she was babysitting, without any self-consciousness at all, intent on making that kid have a blast. Coleen's obituary states how much she cherished her grandchildren. Of this, I have no doubt. I am so sorry for the loss of this mother, grandmother, auntie, sister and friend. Carry her around in your heart always.

Coleen was my first best friend when I was just 5 years old. We spent many happy and carefree days and years together in our childhood. After high school we lost touch, but we ran into each other one day many years ago when she was working at Applebee's. For those brief moments we reconnected we were best little-girl friends again.
I am so sad to hear of Coleen's passing. My condolences to all of her family. May her soul rest in peace.
