Obituary of Gary Lee Butler

Gary Lee Butler, 61, passed away August 17, 2015 due to complications from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). He was born October 2, 1953 to Willard R. and Edna J. McMullin Butler. He was raised in Clarkston, Washington and graduated from Clarkston High School in 1972. Gary excelled in football and baseball and was frequently in the news for his athletic talents. After high school he continued his passion for sports by playing in several local leagues. Gary also attended Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana.
Gary worked in regional sales and marketing management for more than 30 years. His early work included an ice company in the Lewiston / Clarkston area, and Continental Baking Company, where he became the Northwest Regional Manager. In the 90’s, Gary worked in computer software sales and marketing for the automotive industry and relocated to Vancouver, Washington. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching football and baseball.
Survivors include two brothers, Dan Butler and Bruce Butler, his three children Marsha Zeigler and her husband Adam, Willard Butler and his wife Samantha, and Christopher Butler, Grand-daughters McKinzie and Cadence, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and a host of in-laws and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Tim Butler and Tony Butler; and a sister, Kellie McCall.
A private memorial service will be held in the Lewiston / Clarkston area at a later date.
