Please share a memory of Wilma to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Wilma Arletah Dungan passed away on January 6, 2016, at age 91.
Wilma was born on January 21, 1924 to her parents Fred and Clara Wark, in Vancouver, Washington. A lifelong Pacific Northwest resident, Wilma graduated from Vancouver High School, and went on to get her Bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University where she was a member of Chi Omega. She married her high school sweetheart Robert Dungan in 1945, and they were married for 59 years.
Wilma lived her life with a happy disposition, and was pleased with her “good, full life.” She enjoyed golfing at both Green Meadows and Fairway Village. She shared her kindness with the community by volunteering her time at the School for the Deaf, School for the Blind and Share House. A true Washingtonian, Wilma was an avid hiker, and also enjoyed cross-country skiing. Wilma and Robert enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii. The matriarch of her family, she was a wonderful homemaker and took great joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her 3 children: Terry M. Dungan (wife Barbara) of Moses Lake, Boni Deal (husband Dave) of Camas, and Lori Montgomery (husband Dave) of Nevada; 4 grandchildren: Terry Jr., Gabriel, Sarah and Michael; as well as 3 great-grandchildren: Aisyah, Adam, and Muhammad. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 2004, her grandson Andy and brother Herbert.
A memorial service will take place April 2, 2016, 3 PM, at The Church of the Good Shepherd, in Vancouver. Arrangements are under the care of Brown’s Funeral home. To sign the online guestbook or to leave a condolence, please visit www.brownsfh.com
