Obituary of Dennis Ashby Spencer

Dennis Ashby Spencer passed away on March 27, 2016. He was 76 years old. Dennis was born on November 3, 1939 in Morton, Washington, to his parents Evelyn and Ronald Spencer. Dennis was a resident of Vancouver for the past 1.5 years, previously of The Dalles, Oregon. Dennis was passionate about education and received his Bachelor's degree at Oregon College (now Western Oregon University), his first Master's degree from Oregon State, and his second Master's from University of Oregon. He was a member of the Oregon Education Association, and taught for 52 years. Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Carole, his 6 daughters: Dayna Christison of Vancouver, Dana Nelson of Vancouver, Michelle Harris of Portland, Karena Rogers of Salt Lake City, Utah, Rebekah Sims of Washougal, and Amy Spencer of Eugene, his 2 sons: Eric Spencer of Eugene, and Gavin Spencer of Redding, California, 25 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, his 4 brothers: Robert, Gary, Michael and Stephen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Dennis' life will take place on Saturday, May 21 at 11 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Orchards Ward.
