Obituary of John McFarlane Boyle, Jr.

John "Bud" McFarlane Boyle, Jr, 88, of Camas, WA. passed away peacefully at his home with his loving wife "Avis" and family by his side on February 3, 2017. John was born to John and Rheba Boyle on July 7, 1928 in Bozeman, MT. He graduated from Camas High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marines. He was a bookkeeper/truck driver for Copeland Lumber Company. He then went to work for Crown Zellerbach Paper Company and retired after 39 years. He was a member of Smith Reynolds Post #14 of the American Legion, Camas Moose Lodge #1042 and the AWPPW Local #5. One of his greatest enjoyments in life was shopping with his family all year for toys/bicycles for the Carol toy drive for the Camas Fire Department. He also enjoyed maintaining his near perfect flower beds and yard, traveling with his wife, watching sports, woodworking, crossword puzzles and his love and caring for animals. He married the love of his life Avis Boyle on July 3, 1948 and spent 68 wonderful years in Camas where they remained throughout their married life. John is survived by his wife, Avis; daughters, Cathy (Ron) Brown of Washougal, Sue Gates of Chandler, AZ, Jeanne Flowers of Portland, OR; son, Kenneth Bruce Boyle of Vancouver, WA; 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, son-in-law's and numerous family members. Dad you truly will be missed as your heart was filled with love, generosity, kindness not only to your family but to all who came in contact with you. Viewing will be held on Friday, February 10th from 1 to 5 pm at Brown's Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, February 13th at 1 pm at Brown's Funeral Home.
