In the housing area where we lived, in Kodiak, and Al worked, all the neighborhood kids knew Mr. Cottle. They would run to meet his truck if he came to preform some electrical work on a housing unit. Not only was he a kind man but he had a little doggie, Ginger who was very friendly. Al lost his little Ginger a while back but now they will be back together & I am sure Ginger will be giddy with joy to be back with her partner. What a sweet team they were. I am smiling at the vision I remember. God embrace them both.

In the 1960's in Juneau, Al was one of my step-dads (Troy Swofford) best friends. Al was an avid duck hunter along with deer and fishing. I was a teenager at the time and Al had the patients to teach me many skills. I was blessed for having Al in my life. Later in the 60's I joined the Coast Guard. Al gave me his CG "blouse" with a cape that he had customized embrodery. In the late 70's when the CG changed the uniforms I donated the blouse to the CG Museum in Seattle.
