Robert Merle Berry Sr. passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 in Washougal. Born on June 14, 1928 in Portland, Oregon Robert was 79 years old.
A Veteran of the US Navy during World War II, Robert worked in Quality Control for Crown Zellerbach Paper Mill in Camas before his retirement and was a member of the American Legion Cape Horn Post #122. He was a member and former Chief of Civil Service for Washougal in the 1980's and recently retired this year. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, winemaking, writing music, and taking trips to Spirit Mountain Casino. Most of all Robert loved being with his family and friends.
Robert is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years Joyce at home, daughters Sharon Crandall, Janet Berry, and Wanda Handley, sons Merle Berry and Kenneth Berry, sister June Kelsey, ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service with Military Honors for Robert on Friday, October 5th at 11:00 am at Brown's Funeral Home in Camas. Viewing will be held on Friday at 9:00 am and following the service until 5:00 pm. Interment will take place at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
