Richard "Dick" Pier Ackerman peacefully passed away on October 18, 2007 in Vancouver. Born on September 26, 1925 in Osakis, Minnesota, Dick was 82 years old.
A Washougal resident since 1965, Dick worked as a laborer for the Clark County PUD. A Veteran of the United States Navy during WWII, Dick enjoyed cutting hay and using his John Deere tractor out on his families land in Washougal. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling around the Pacific Northwest.
Dick is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Ila at home, son Todd (Dara) Ackerman of Washougal, daughter Shelly (Omar) Zarrouki of Camas, grandsons Erik Ackerman, Dustin Arrington, and Jordan Arrington, brother Dale (Janet) Ackerman of California, one niece and one nephew.
There will be a private family gathering at a later date. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
