Oh Dub. I so wish I coulda stayed in touch with you. You teased me constantly but I knew you cared. I have thought so often about you. You loved to pretend to be a grouch, but you had a huge heart. I remember our talks and always will. Charlie and Trevor Im so sorry. Dub please give my mom a hug for me ❤️ You are forever in my memories and may you rest in peace and no more pain.

Dub my mother just recently let me know she saw your death notice in the local paper I feel so sorry for your son, grandkids and friends they have lost a great man that I wish to hell I could have known better! I wish we could have remained friends but you will remain my friend in my heart & mind forever I lost my real dad when I was 2 I have no real memories of him but you stepped in for a brief couple years at a young age and took the time to teach me how to be a BOY! Damn you saw right away what I needed after meeting my still grief stricken mom She had lost her high school sweetheart her husband of 20 years when she met you She was still a young widow who had a rough and tumble super high energy little boy her hands were full YOU HELPED!! God sent you our way an angel to touch our lives and give my mom snd I hope that life indeed goes on after great loss You had suffered loss like that yourself you always told me You knew my moms pain YOU HELPED!!! Thank you for the fishing trips the breakfasts at Neders Cafe the quiet dinners at your old trailer up on that hill somewhere outside Washougal You made me a sling shot I ran around crazy up there trying to hit things with marbles while my mom and you talked and helped each other through life I guess I still have that sling shot Dub it hangs above my work bench and reminds me of you so often I’ve had to replace the tubing a couple times just like you showed me when I was 4 years old Dub I’m pretty sure if my mom would have been older or you would have been younger you would have maybe ended up my step dad At least I want to believe that because you were one hell of a man and even though my mom did finally remarry some years later and I was blessed with a good dad she never let me forget the people who helped us sling the way She has fondly recalled stories of that time in our lives and retold them numerous times to my step dad and I She says you helped shape her life at age 40 with your wisdom and kindness To this day she gives loves and helps so many people and her faith in the Lord never diminishes She ended up fostering kids and helping elderly I hope you can take a peek at our lives now from your hunting/fishing cabin in heaven and you are proud because I’m proud to have had you touch my life and my moms RIP GOOD MAN!! I will be taking that slingshot out this weekend find a river and shoot some rocks all the while thanking God for good men like you Love you Dub Love Caleb

Dub was the most kind honest man I have ever known
He helped me in a time of my life when my son and I had no one, no family, no friends my husband had passed away just a couple years before and we were left in a new house in Washougal not knowing anyone Our lives were so difficult and Dub stepped in and helped us out a few times I never got the chance to repay him and I live with that regret to this day Without his help at the time God only knows how we would have ended up probably homeless but because of his help and his friendship we survived I wish I would have been able to find you again before you passed to say THANK YOU for your kindness friendship and advice We did survive Dub thanks to you!! You would be so proud of Caleb he still remembers you to this day and still has the slingshot you made him hanging by his workbench! Thank you for all your advice about life and sharing your wisdom with me I will forever be indebted THANK YOU FOR BELIEVING IN ME AND BEING MY FRIEND!!!
REST IN PEACE DUB MICKES
HEAVEN IS WAITING FOR ANGELS LIKE YOU
