To my Mom: My heart hurts but I am also thankful that you are now free. Free of the grip of a disease that stole your memory and ravaged your body. A woman of strength, courage, perseverance, faith and unending love for Sharon, Mike and me. As our mom, you taught us, cared for us, provided for us. Cheered us to succeed, encouraged us in our failures, and we always knew you loved us. I remember how the house smelled of Christmas and the careful way you decorated it, picnics to Rooster Rock, camping at Timothy Lake, our summer trips by train or car to Illinois so we could spend the summer on the family farm. When I had children of my own, and the distance between us was a matter of miles, you made it possible for me and the kids to visit during the summers. Your love for all of us was always unconditional. You have left us a legacy of family, love and memories too numerous to count. It was not just a responsibility to follow your last wishes, it was my honor and privilege. Thank you for entrusting your children to care for you. You are so loved and so very much missed. Dance with the Lord and I will see you in Heaven where we shall all be reunited!
