William Ray Corwin Obituary 8/1/42 - 11/3/20
William (Bill) Corwin was born on August 1, 1942, to Juanita Fay and Donald Boyd Corwin, Sr. He was born in Brooklyn, NY joining an older brother Donald Boyd Corwin, Jr. in the family.
Growing up in Rome, NY, just out of Griffith AFB, he was in the class of 1969, graduating from Oriskany Central High School. In January of 1960, Bill joined the Navy where he met and married his soul-mate Phyllis, in Key West Florida, on October 7, 1966.
In December of 1979, after spending a great deal of time at sea and teaching electronics, Bill retired as a Chief Petty Officer, later moving to Southern CA and then Portland, OR to continue his career in the electronics industry with Credence Systems.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Phyllis, two nieces Cindy Ficalora, CT, Patty Sutorius, IN, two nephews Donald B,III, Jeffrey, as well as numerous close friends he considered his adopted family.
Bill, also known as "Buffalo Bill" had a never ending drive to experience life. He enjoyed and excelled in things such as photography, archery as well as rifle and pistol competitions. Bill also had a great love for animals and the outdoors. Living out on acreage, he spent many hours photographing and making friends with the deer and other wildlife who came to share dinner at the Corwin's. We will sure miss you Billy Ray.
