Ethel "Lorraine" Drechsler, 89, went to meet her Lord on June 21, 2013, in Vancouver, WA. She was born in Trenton, NJ on April 12, 1924, the only daughter of Paul S. and Mary Suplee Bannerman. She graduated from Trenton High School in 1942. Lorraine married Clarence J. Drechsler, Jr. Aug. 25, 1945 and together they raised two boys in the Trenton area. She was a Secretary/Office manager at the Children's Home Society for 16 years. Always active in her church, Lorraine taught Sunday school at Trinity Cathedral in Trenton for 20 years. After Clarence retired, they moved to Seminole, FL, where they lived for 20 years. In June of 1996, the couple moved to Vancouver, WA to be near family. Lorraine devoted her life to her family, church, and her friends. She was involved in many activities; Share House in Vancouver, Tutoring at Ellsworth School, a book club, and many groups within the church. Lorraine is survived by her son, Gregory (Carol) of Vancouver, WA; and three grandchildren, Corey (Kristen) of Salem, OR, Krista (Lance) of Missoula, MT, and Nathaniel of Vancouver, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years; and their son, Gordon J. Drechsler. Interment will be at Ewing Cemetery in Ewing, NJ on Thurs., June 27. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sun., June 30 at 4:00 p.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Vancouver, WA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be sent to the American Heart Association or the Good Shepherd Montessori Preschool, 805 SE Ellsworth Rd., Vancouver, WA 98664.
