Cpt Mills was an active member of the Curtiss Association. We are very sorry to learn of his death and send our sympathy to all who loved him. He was the Supply Officer on the Curtiss during Atomic Tests, Greenhouse and Ivy. During the Association’s annual business meeting in Branson, MO on September 6th, 2008 there will be a Roll Call of all the shipmates who have been called to their eternal rest since the last meeting. A ship's bell will sound a moment of silence for each of them. "Hubert Preston Mills" will be included in this Roll Call. It is also our custom to give a benevolent gift in all their names to a worthy cause chosen each year. This year's memoriam will be given to the Navy -Marine Corps Relief Society. It is a private non-profit organization sponsored by the US Navy Department. Its mission is to provide, in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, financial, educational, and other assistance to members of the Naval Services of the United States, eligible family members, and survivors when in need. May God continue to bless you with His Grace and may you be comforted.
