Obituary of Donald Strain

Donald A. Strain of Vancouver, WA, passed away on April 16, 2014. He was 88. He was born on November 30, 1925 in Lamar, Colorado to his parents, Ralph and Muriel (Lee) Strain. The past 7 years, Don resided in Vancouver, WA; prior to that he was a Camas resident of 70 years. He worked as a machine tender, where he later retired from Crown Zellerbach. He was a Veteran who served in the US Air Force during WWII, where he was the recipient of the Purple Heart. He belonged to the A.W.P.P.W. Local#5 and Orchard Hills Golf & Country Club. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf and boating. He is survived by his loving wife Donna, sons: Joseph (Cindi) Strain of Dallas, TX, and Richard (Christy) Strain of Boise, ID; daughter, Karen Quigley of Vancouver, WA; 5 grandchildren; and sister, Bettie Brock of Vancouver, WA. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, Apr. 19, 2014 at 4PM, at Orchard Hills Country Club in Washougal, WA. Interment will be at Camas Cemetery.
