Obituary of Riley Calkins

Riley Anson Calkins Jr. passed away on September 20, 2014. He was 68 years old. Riley was born in The Dalles, Oregon, on February 3, 1946 to his parents Riley Sr. and Arline Calkins. Riley worked as a handyman, maintaining properties and doing all sorts of helpful odd jobs. He was a 5 year resident of Washougal, previously of Boring, Oregon. Riley enjoyed wood working, going on nature walks, scenic drives up the gorge with his wife, especially up to North Bonneville where they would enjoy a hotdog and an ice-cream sandwich. Riley also enjoyed spending time with his big, Irish family. He was loved by many and will be missed. Riley is survived by his wife Judy, at home; two daughters: Jessica (Glenn) of Sandy, Oregon and Jody of Washougal; three grandchildren: Johnathen (Christin), Carissa, and Megan; brother Wayne (Shelley) of Magnolia, Texas; sister Renée (Don) of Kimberly Wisconsin, his uncle Del (Linda), aunt Charolette, and cousins Ronie, Gary, Dona, Dorothy, Vicki, Del Jr., Mike, Linda, and Carol; as well as his close friends, Bob and Cindy from Corbett, Oregon, Daron and Shari of Tillamok, OR, and Sue and Ralph of Washougal. Riley was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jackie VandenBoogaard in 2002. The family would like to thank the staff of Camas/Washougal police and fire & rescue, as well as the staff at Peace Health Medical Group for their help and care.
