Daniel Phillip Zorn Jr. returned to his Lord on Sunday, December 28, 2008 after a long and courageous fight against Cancer and the toxic exposure of Agent Orange. Born on June 12, 1950 in Portland, Oregon, Daniel was 58 years old. A Camas-Washougal resident for 30 years, Daniel worked as a commercial painter and as a part-time welder, and was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Washougal. He was a Veteran of the US Navy during the Vietnam War from 1969-1971. He was a Lifetime member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Schick-Ogle Post #4278, Member of the Order of the Silver Rose, Member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and was the 2008-2009 Veteran's of Foreign War's Washington State Veteran of the Year. Daniel also enjoyed volunteering to help Veteran's and going hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycle riding, and spending time with his grandchildren. Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Christine at home, sons Jeremy Huntley and Joshua Zorn, grandchildren Michael, Kourtnee, Katharine, Cassie, Dakota, and Raven, sisters Caroline Zorn-Pickens, Georgiana Scott, Rosemary Brannum, and Esther Brannum, and brothers Jess Zorn and David Zorn. There will be a Celebration of Daniel's life with full military honors on Saturday, January 3rd at 1:00 pm at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Washougal. Interment will be held at the Fern Prairie Cemetery in Camas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to Veteran's Who Care Foundation: PO Box 561, Washougal, WA 98671. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
