Obituary of Lucille Olson

Lyn E. Olson, 76, of Newport, Oregon died December 31, 2008 in Newport. She was born Oct. 1, 1932 to Don and Mary Edmundson in Portland. In 1950, she graduated from Jefferson High School in Portland. In 1955, she graduated from George Fox College. On Dec. 31, 2958, she married Raymond "Ray" Olson and the couple later had three children. She taught art for four years in Vernonia high schools and grade schools as well as at George Fox College and Warner Pacific College. She then turned her attention to raising her children. She is survived by her husband, Ray Olson of Newport; daughter Charlyn; sons, Scott and Marc; brother Richard "Dick" (Pat) Edmundson of Camas, 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 SE Mt. Scott Blvd. in Portland and at 2 p.m. Saturday at Newport Church of the Nazarene, 227 NW 12th St. Memorial donations may be made to Hope Center, 227 NW 12th St., Newport, OR 97365. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
