Arnold Gene Flippen peacefully passed away at his home in Vancouver on Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Born on August 23, 1935 in Bluefield, West Virginia, Arnold was 73 years old.
A two year Vancouver resident, Arnold was formerly of the Longview, Washington area and West Virginia. He was a Veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War, and worked as a truck driver before his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, camping, dancing, watching TV, listening to bluegrass music, traveling in his RV and spending time with his family.
Arnold is survived by his loving wife of 11 years Mary at home, sons Mark Flippen, Scott Flippen, and Edward Flippen, daughter Shirley McDaniel, sisters Alice Ballance and Barbara Tilley, eleven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, February 22nd at the Flippen's residence. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
