Vera Tauc
June 18, 1923 - March 13, 2009
Vera was born in a small town near Tabor, Czechoslovakia to a schoolmaster. She attended High School in Tabor and married Jan Tauc in 1947.
Vera was a gifted linguist and pianist. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and an outstanding and devoted companion to her husband. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and reading and later in life she swam daily, accumulating several thousand miles. She was bold and not afraid. Vera lived through Nazi and Communist regimes and survived World War II. In 1969 she came to the USA with her family, easily adapted to the new life and lived in Barrington Rhode Island. In 2006 Vera and Jan moved to Washougal, Washington to be close to their family.
Vera is survived by her husband of 62 years Jan, daughter Elena Kokta, son Jan and four grandchildren Helen and Martin Tauc and Robert and Theresa Kokta.
There will be no public service. Donations in remembrance of Vera can be made to Hospice Southwest in Vancouver, WA.
Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
