Obituary of Bernard Zollo

Bernard Clair Zollo peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at his home in Camas. Born on April 25, 1922 in Camas, Washington, Bernard was 86 years old. A lifetime Camas resident, Bernard was a graduate of Camas High School. He enlisted into the US Army during WWII and was honorably discharged in November of 1945. After the war he went to work for Crown Zellerbach Paper Mill in Camas and worked as a papermaker on Machine #15 and was a member of the A.W.P.P.W. Local #5. He was a member of St. John's Presbyterian Church in Camas and a member of the local 49ers Trailer Club. He and his wife were able to travel to all fifty states. Most of all, Bernard loved his family, friends, and his Lord. Bernard is survived by his daughters Beth Zollo-Klaas of Washougal, and Janet Jones of Olympia, brother Duane Zollo of Camas, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years Mary Zollo in 2008 and brother Carl Zollo in 2008. There will be a celebration of Bernard's life on Saturday, March 28th at 2:00 pm at St. John's Presbyterian Church in Camas. Interment will be at the Camas Cemetery. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
