Obituary of Verna Strunk

Verna Anna Strunk peacefully passed away on Friday, May 15, 2009 in Vancouver. Born on June 9, 1919 in Marion, North Dakota, Verna was 89 years old. A Vancouver resident for the last 37 years, Verna worked for Tektronix for 33 years before retiring. She enjoyed traveling, clam digging, cooking, baking, gardening, and crocheting. Verna is survived by her loving husband of 36 years Johnnie at home, son Richard Mielke of Vancouver, daughter Glenys (Ken) Seger of Portland, step-son Stan (Tammy) Strunk of Camas, step-daughter Bonnie (Marty) Thompson of Vancouver, sister June Tharoldson of Fargo, North Dakota, grandchildren Sarah Mielke, Nathan Mielke Alisa Proudfoot, Aaron Seger, Aluara Harris, Alana Bunnell, Jenifer Stump, Jacquelyn Strunk, and T.J. Strunk, and five great-grandchildren. There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, May 20th at 1:00 pm at the Fern Prairie Cemetery in Camas. Memorials in Verna's honor may be sent to the Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund: 824 NE 4th Avenue Camas, WA 98607 or the Ray Hickey Hospice House: PO Box 1600 Vancouver, WA 98668.
