I am sorry for the passing of Mr Blodgett..he was a man todays kids would learn quickly to respect. He was my principal for 4 years in High School. He was held in high respect for all students in those days. You always knew where you stood with him. I would meet him at the post office now and then and he always remembered your name..amazing man. Thank you Mr. Blodgett

As I grew up in Washougal, "Mr. Blodgett" was our school district's superintendent, a greatly respected member of the community. For a student, he was a very dignified figure, maybe even a bit formidable. I feel privileged to have had him as my Scout Master for Boy Scout troop 612. This allowed me to get to know him in a much more informal setting. He was a great role model for all of the scouts and for any students that had the opportunity to know him. On those occasions over all the years, when I would run into him around town, I felt very honored that he always remembered me. Mr. Blodgett is truly one of the important residents in Washougal's history. I offer my sympathy to Cathy, who I shared several classes with in high school, and Butch, who I knew as the big kid we looked up to in scouts. Washougal's loss is a great and very personal one for you.

Mr. Blodgett had a long personal friendship with board members Bob Juris and Jim Beeks, and he was responsible for Roosevelt's inclusion in ESD 112 as the easternmost member of the district. Mr. Blodgett will long be remembered here as a friend and benefactor. We send our sincere regrets to his family. Kenneth BeLieu, Roosevelt School Superintendent

How does one say, 'goodbye' when they've gone Home before you stopped in? What a blessing it was that all Leo's family were able to talk, laugh, and say their "fare wells" to him in these last weeks. May these memories comfort and cheer you in the days ahead, as the many days at work under Mr. Blodgett's educational leadership will be cherished by his coworkers. He truly left a memorable legacy to public education locally, in our state, and nation.

Dear Butch and Cathy - I was saddened to hear that Leo had passed away. He was the ultimate authority figure for my classmates and me during our junior high years at Washougal and a lifelong friend after that. When I got involved with the oldtimer's group, Leo was present at all of the events, and all of us appreciated seeing him every summer. He will very much be missed.

Cathy and Butch, our hearts are so sad. We have lost a faithful and loyal friend and the nation and Washington State has lost an educational leader of the highest integrity who contributed many years of talent, time and wisdom. He will not be forgotten. His friendship, laughter and inimitable spirit will always be with us. His dedication to his profession set standards that will never be matched. He got things done and done right! Thank you , Leo!

Dear Butch & family... I am so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. He was a man that was larger than life. And, when I would run into him while in the area, he always made you feel he was happy to see you and interested in what was going on in my life. He will always be a man remembered in the Washougal community. Please know that my love and thoughts are with you and your family during this sad time.

I am so sorry for your loss of such a wonderful friend and father. I met Leo about 4 years ago while doing some financial planning, and always enjoyed hearing his fishing stories. Cathy, I enjoyed meeting you at a dinner Dave Dilworth and I put on for our clients that you attended with your father. I was unsure how to get in touch with you and thought this would be the best way. Please contact me at 360-944-6623 or 503-702-3995 or my email when you feel up to it. I have some information for you. Again, I send my condolences....... Vikki
