Obituary of Georgia Finch

Georgia Lee Finch peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at her home in Vancouver. Born on September 19, 1922 in Eldorado, Illinois to Arlie Lou and John Henry Summers, Georgia was 87 years old. A Vancouver resident for the last 13 years, Georgia was formerly from Portland, Oregon. She was a former member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Portland, and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Vancouver. Georgia worked as a teller for First National Bank and then First Interstate Bank in Portland and Seaside, Oregon. She enjoyed dancing, cooking, sewing, gardening, and taking care of her family. Georgia was the most loving wife, Mom, and G.G. Ma and faithful friend. Her smile lit up the room wherever she went. She was so loved and will be missed by many. I said goodbye to my mom today, the angels came and took her away, but I'm trying very hard not to be sad because now she's in heaven dancing with Dad. Georgia is survived by her loving daughters Mikki (Finch) Burton of Vancouver, and Susan (Michael) Baker of New Mexico, granddaughter Kori M. Burton of McMinnville, Oregon, grandsons Chad Burton of Camas, Ryan Baker of New Mexico, and Casey Baker of New Mexico, and great-grandchildren Nicholas, Elijah, and Ava Burton. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Robert "Bob" Finch, three brothers, and three sisters. There will be a Funeral Mass on Thursday, February 25th at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church: 400 South Andresen Road, Vancouver, WA 98661. Private vault interment will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas have been entrusted with arrangements.
