Obituary of Lucinda Johnson

Lucinda Joanne Thompson Johnson returned to her Lord on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at PeaceHealth Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington. Born on October 9, 1947 in Walla Walla, Washington to Cecil Marcus and Velma Geneva (Barber) Thompson; Lucinda was 64 years old. Lucinda graduated from high school in Gonzales, California and received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Portland State University. She went to work for Santa Rosa California Public Schools and then switched careers and became a TV advertising saleswoman for Cox Communications. She was a member of the American Diabetes Association, the Garden Club, and enjoyed painting, home decorating, and shopping. Lucinda was a very giving and thoughtful person. She had a passion for all things family related and will be missed by all who knew her. Lucinda is survived by her loving husband of 42 years Steve at home; son Matthew (Jacque) and their two sons Nicholas and Andrew; son Aaron (Briana) and their two sons Camden and Holden; sister Nora Thomas; nephews Jon DeGroote, Jeff Thompson, Mark Thompson, Joe Thompson, Gregg Thompson, Marc Reed and Sean Reed; nieces Jonell Blatt and Shannon Paxton; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Delores Reed, and brother Cecil Thompson. There will be a celebration of Lucinda's life on Friday, April 13th at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church: 824 NE 4th Ave. Camas, WA 98607. Private vault interment will be held at the Camas Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Thursday, April 12th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Brown's Funeral Home: 410 NE Garfield St. Camas, WA 98607. Memorials in Lucinda's honor may be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
