Dear Earl and Family of Joanne O'Connor-Rowell, We would like to express our sincere sympathy on the loss of Joanne. We are the parents of Kelly (Krautscheid) Van Horn who went to the University of Portland with Jo Jo. We always called her Jo Jo, so it just seems right. Jo Jo was such a happy person who made everyone around her feel appreciated. She was also a good friend of our oldest son, Mike Krautscheid, who died of a malignant brain tumor on May 13, 2007. Jo Jo spent many happy times with our family, and they were all distressed to hear of her passing. We didn't know Jo Jo had passed away until we read it in the University of Portland magazine. We loved her and will always remember her. May God bless her and all her family.

Earl, I was so distressed last week when I learned about Joanne. Such a tragedy for a lovely, vibrant person. I am so sorry that I wasn't able to attend the memorial service for her yesterday. I am here at the Cascade Park Care Center following my surgery on 24 August, and will be here for another two weeks. Joanne was so thougtful and concerned about this surgery and wouldn't let me visit her in the hospital when the doctors had diagnosed her with meningitis. I have appreciated, over these many years, the friendship and love from both of you and your loving support for me during Jack's illness. I want to express to you and your families my sincere sympathy; I'll try to get in touch with you in a few weeks. With affection and fondness. Nancy

Dear Earl and family, I was so sorry to hear of Joanne's passing. She had such a gentle soul, always caring for others. I really appreciated her warm smile and greeting at church. I remember our last conversation with a smile. She spoke so enthusiastically about golf and her desire to play again. She even gave me advice to pass on to Marshall, our son, about how to improve his game! She just lit up when we discussed golf. You are in my prayers for comfort- May God hold all of you close. I am sorry to not be there as we are traveling. In Christ's Love, Mary Ellen

Dear Earl - I am a greatly saddened by the loss of such a vibrant and energetic woman. My first memories of Joanne was her enthusiastic effort to get all interested GS lady golfers together to play golf - here, there, and every way!~! She had such a passion for the game and for the people she played with. Her smile was contagious and her energy inspiring. She set a high standard for herself, valuing quality over quantity. She was kind and bright, gentle and loving. I will miss her on the golf team - one of her many legacies.

Dear Earl and family, I am so sorry for your lose. A number of years ago, Joanne and I worked at Bruchi's together. That's when we discovered we both attended Good Shepherd. She always had a kind word to say and a smile that would light up her face. She will be missed. My prayers are with you and your family. Peace, Danielle
