Gerald Dean "Jerry" Harrington peacefully passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at his home in Carson, Washington. Born on August 3, 1940 in Hood River, Oregon to Raymond and Helen (Hovey) Harrington; Jerry was 70 years old.
Jerry's family lived in North Bonneville during his early years, then moved to Hemlock where he lived until he married. Jerry attended Carson Grade School and Stevenson High School, graduating in 1959. In 1961 he married Janet Neece. Jerry worked in the logging industry, construction business and his last employment was with the Skamania Co. PUD. Jerry liked to hunt and fish, spend the winters in AZ, and family gatherings.
Preceded by parents and brother Rob, Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Jan at home; daughters Julie Ann Parrott of Kent, Washington, and Cynthia Jean Harrington of Vancouver; sons Steven Mark Harrington of Carson, and Bradley John "BJ" Harrington of Carson; siblings Carol Hollis of Vancouver, Tim Harrington of Vancouver, Ron Harrington of Broken Arrow, OK; grandchildren Scott Nafziger of Kent WA, SSGT. Brian Nafziger of Cheyenne WY. Tasha Harrington and Blair Harrington both of Carson; and great grandson Hunter Harrington of Carson.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Hospice of the Gorge in Jerrys name. No formal service will be held at his request but rather a Celebration of Life potluck will be held Dec. 12th at 1pm at the Legion Hall in Carson for family and close friends. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
