Obituary of Frank Correnti

Frank Correnti passed away on Friday, December 17, 2010 in Portland, Oregon. Born on August 28, 1924 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Joe and Carmela (Walfitans); Frank was 86 years old. A Camas resident for the last three years, Frank previously lived in Vancouver for ten years and was formerly of Arizona and Michigan. He was a Veteran of the United States Army during World War II. Frank served as a Corporal in the 148th Infantry Regiment of the 37th Infantry Division. During his honorable service Frank received the Bronze Star Medal for his service in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations; a Presidential Citation from President Harry S. Truman on March 4, 1945; and worked as an antitank gunner for the 57 mm antitank gun crew. Aside from his distinguished military career; Frank worked as a laborer in the construction industry. He attended the Camas Assembly of God Church and was a snowbird in Arizona. He enjoyed golfing, going to garage sales, and family gatherings. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 13 years Lucille at home; sons Frankie Correnti, Jimmy Correnti, Tommy Correnti; daughters Mary Ann Moro, and Shirley Hughes; step-children Terry Moore, Karen Moore, Wayne Moore, Debbie Flores, and Cindy Dietzman; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Correnti, son Ron Correnti, two sisters and one brother. There will be a celebration of Frank's life with full Military Honors on Tuesday, December 28th at 1:00 pm at Camas Assembly of God Church: 500 SE Everett Rd.; Camas, WA 98607. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
