Dear Jean, Erin, and Coreen.... We are so sorry for the loss of your beloved husband, and Daddy. He was a good man and he is going to be missed many of us. When you lived at the end of our road, who ever dreamed that one day we would be family. Jim and Jean gave us Erin, a wonderful daughter in law, then there was the bonus of two awesome grandchildren...Nik and Mckenzie.I should also mention what a joy Coreen is! Life is so short, we're so happy that we could all be together for Jim's last Christmas. Jim, you've left us for a while, but you'll always be in our hearts and memories......Your buddy..JON COUTURE

Dear long time special friend, neighbor, grandma to my grandkids, I just want you to know how much you mean to me and that you are in my prayers and thoughts at this so very sad time. Jim was a great guy, so thankful we got to spend time around the table at Christmas together, sharing and loving each other. What a great grandpa he was to Nik and Kenzie. They will miss him so. He was a good dad and raised two beautiful daughters with a lot of your wonderful help. I know times will be very tough the next few months, please call me. I will be in touch with you too. Know that we love you. Jeannie

The stories I remember of growing up with Jim. He offered to pay be a quarter if I would polish his engineer boots once, they were well oiled and no way would they ever shine - I spent hours on that and finally dad made him give me the quarter anyway (but dad was laughing too. Then there was standing above the culvert with a canoe paddle at the ready to whack the unsuspecting carp - who knew he would grow up and be such an accomplished fisherman. I'll miss his humor and strength but will always remember his undying love for his family. Girls I am the saddest that his grandchildren (and future grandchildren) will not have the opportunities to know him - but I am certain that all will be enfolded in his care forever.

dear mom, erin, and coreen, my heart aches for all three of you. as a family you have taken me in and accepted me. i have alot of memories of my father-in-law, even though its only been seven and 1/2 years. he taught me how to fly fish on the tube, he taught me how to catch bass in our very own "sweet spot" on the river that he made me promise never to reveal. i was looking forward as was he for spring to come because we were going to get the big ones. im going to miss his fishing stories, his questions he would ask me about mechanical things. it made me very proud to think he looked to me for advise at times. im glad he was able to see me get my new job. he even wrote me a card telling me how proud he was of me. that meant so much to me. we as a family have alot of hard days ahead of us. we will be strong for each other, i will be there whenever you need me. one day at a time. i love you mom, i love you erin, i love you coreen, and chris too. jim has left a mark in my heart that will never leave, and will never be completely healed. i love you dad!!!!! thanks for everything!!

Dear Jean, Erin, Coreen, and family, I am so sorry that I cannot be there for the celebration of my brother's life due to obligations here on the east coast. Know that I will be there in thoughts and prayers with you. The road ahead of all of you will be a long one, but please do not ever hesitate to call on us if you need anything or even an ear to bend. I will truly miss him, including all his antics and jokes, over the last few years I feel we have had the chance to become much closer. My only regret is that I didn't make it out to see his beloved Washington State and learn some of his fly fishing tactics. He will surely be missed by all. With much sadness we say goodbye---Sue Luck and family.

My deepest condolences go out to you all, Jean, Erin, Coreen and family. I am so sorry that I couldn't make it out there to be with you, but just know my love is there. Oh Jim, we didn't have all the quality years with each other since our childhood together because our lives took different directions in our early adult years, but the times we did get together, I have so cherished those memories -- I only wish we had had more. I will miss you dearly, brother, I know the fish are going to fear you in your new place also. With much love, Nancy

Jeanne, We are so sorry to hear about Jim's passing. MaryEllen McManus called last night to tell us the sad news. Jim gave me my first career break when he recommended me for the Environmental Engineer's job at Lyons Falls, NY - GP mill. I have been in the forest products industry ever since (23 yrs)! I have fond memories of camping, canoeing, sailing, and skiing with you and Jim when you both lived in Lyons Falls. One trip sticks out in my head when Jim and I canoed / camped Long Lake..we had a lot of fun, didn't catch any fish, but he had fun nonetheless. Sailing on Lake Ontario was great. I remember pulling up to Sackets Harbor and touring the old military grounds with you, Jim, Lisa and I. He was a great, fun loving guy, that enjoyed life to the fullest. He helped me get my career started which I'm forever thankful. My sincere condolences go out to you and your family. Lovingly, Rich and Lisa Weber Fort Mill, SC
