We had the pleasure of knowing Jake when he played football with our son in the fall of 2014. At that time, he was juggling school, CCYF football and his love of the rodeo. Somehow, Jake got it done and gave his all at each practice and game. He always had a smile on his face and his energy was infectious. He was just one of those kids that you wanted to be around. He was full of light and life. I work at RCH and was there the night Jake came in. I rounded on the units he was in, and always kept tabs on his progress. My heart broke a little when I found out he passed on Saturday when I came into work. Each shift, the first thing I did was check to see how he was doing. There are no words to express our profound sympathies on your loss. We can't even begin to understand what you're going through, but you all are constantly in our thoughts and prayers. I have no doubt that with all the light Jake had inside him, he is now making heaven a brighter, happier place.
