I feel like Evelyn has been a part of my life for sometime now. You see although I didn't know her that well she still had an impact on my life. She was my sisters neighbor. The thoughtful and caring deeds that she showed my family will always mean more then anyone could ever imagine. She never ever judged anyone. And to me that is someone who has a heart of gold My son who is now 7 has always went and helped his uncle mow her lawn and he told me to say that he will miss that and her a lot. And he said he would still like to keep mowing because he knows Evelyn is watching him from Heaven. God Bless!!!! The LaHaies

My mom and dad were close friends of Evelyn. As a result, I grew up knowing Evelyn, and she was like a 2nd mom. I remember their many activities and trips over the years. I think of Scrabble games, ding-a-lings, and much laughter. I enjoyed visits at Evelyn's house on Bigelow Street and playing with Judy, Diane, and little Shirley Sue on the big tire swing, those tall stilts, and lawn croquet. When they moved to the Washougal area, there was a rope swing in the barn, ceramics to make, and much laughter. I will always remember Evelyn and her love, caring, and words of wisdom.
