To the Gilgore Family, please accept my deepest and most sincere condolences with your loss of Stew. i remember as a young boy my father Walter Stille talking of how great of a finish carpenter Stew was, and that he was a great union brother! i remember coming out to the ranch as a young man to visit stew and also our family buying beef from him. Stew was a great person, when ever i would see him in town or at a union hall function he would always take time to visit withe me and reminis of the day's past working with my Father walter. Stew will be missed but never forgotten, he touched so many people in his life! here is a little adage i want to leave you with, i hope it helps with your loss. When i must leave you for a little while, please do not grieve and shed wild tears and hug your sorrow to you through the years, but start out bravely with a gallant smile;and for my sake and in my name live on and do all things the same, feed not your loneliness on empty day's, but fill each walking hour in useful way's,Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer and i in turn will comfort you and hold you near;and never, never be afraid to die,for i am waiting for you in the sky. God Bless, Ernie

Dear Stew...it has been decades since you and I were in Camas High School together. And perhaps too many years since I thought of you and your parents. But I'm thinking of you now in a tough time, and hoping for your courage in these coming months, even as you leave behind the courage of the last months with your dad. I would love to hear from you. pelhamhoyt@aol.com

I was sad to hear of Uncle Stew's death last week and want to send condolences on behalf of myself and my wife Deb. Though we have been separated by thousands of miles for virtually my entire life we are still forever connected by the loved ones in our lives. It was great to see Ann Marie at the family reunion in Lancaster, PA last year. Now our respective fathers will have their family reunion in heaven. Best wishes and may God be with you during this time.

I have so many memories of Stewart and Bena through the years, having met them in 1987 through St. Thomas Aquinas Church and my love for walking, both of which brought me close to Bena almost immediately. Since then, I've stayed in touch with the Gilgores, no matter where life's path has taken me. In all these years, Stewart has been the steady light in Bena's life. His work ethic, both at home and at Church, has been beyond ordinary. Always dressed immaculately for Mass and for projects at Church, Stewart's respect for his own life and the lives of others, was ever so ingrained in him. It could only rub off on the rest of us. Thank you, Stewart for being a Faithful Stewart. Bena will miss you so much but the rest of us will too.

Another member of such an amazing generation has left this world to be with our Lord Jesus. My heart can't help but ache in losing grandpa. But generations later of hard work, tough love, sweat, stubbornness and determination still flow within the Gilgore Blood! Its a part of who I am, traits that I'd never forfeit, and a way of life that makes us GILGORE. Thank you grandpa....its true, no matter the distance of a relationship, the acorn doesn't fall far from the tree, and you were that strong tree!!
