Obituary of Nick Martell

Nick Martell returned to his Lord on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Ray Hickey Hospice House in Vancouver. Born on January 21, 1932 in Prindle, Washington to Tony and Rosalie Martell, Nick was 78 years old.
A former lifetime Vancouver resident, Nick had lived the last fifteen years in Hines, Oregon. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy during Korean War from 1951-1955, and a member of the Veteran's Foreign Wars Yates-Gonzalez Post #9612. Nick worked as a fireman for the Vancouver Fire Department and was also a Sheriff for the Clark County, Skamania County, and Hines Sheriff Departments. He also worked as a locksmith in both Clark County and Harney County. Along with being a former private pilot, Nick also enjoyed photography, was a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge, and spending time with his family and friends.
Nick is survived by his daughters Nickee (Barry) Breiman of LaCenter, Washington, and Michelle Martell of Vancouver; sons Rick Martell of LaCenter and Eric Martell of Battle Ground; mother Rosalie Martell of Vancouver; brothers Victor (Delores) Martell of Nevada, and Erwin Martell of Las Vegas, Nevada; sisters Anthonette Miller of Vancouver, Marie (Dick) Fronk of Vancouver, Gloria Cameron of Vancouver, Louise Hollenbeck of Vancouver, and Julie "Dolly" Martell of Vancouver; former wife Arpa Martell of Vancouver; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 24 years Barbara Martell in 2007; father Tony Martell; and sister Jennie Herrod.
There will be no public services for Nick. Donations in Nick's memory may be sent to the American Lung Association. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
