Walter Ernest Stille passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at his home in Vancouver. Born on July 11, 1928 to Martin and Iva Stille in Clarksville, Iowa, Walter was 82 years old.
A Clark County resident since 1960, Walter worked as a Carpenter/Millwright, and belonged to the Carpenter/Millwright Local #1715 of Vancouver. Along with woodworking, Walter volunteered throughout the Camas-Washougal community including the C-W Wildlife League. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, saw filing, camping at the coast, and clam digging. Most of all, Walter enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Walter is survived by his sons Ernest (Cindie) Stille of Camas and Charles "Chuck" Cline of Washougal; sisters Thelma Wigman, Ethel Cruse, Marlys Nitcher, and Lois Wiemeyer; brothers Charles Stille and Delmar Stille, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years Maxine L. Stille in 1998; son Kim Cline in 1991; brothers Earl Stille, Lester Stille, and Everett Stille, and sisters Velma Stille and Willa Stille.
There will be no public services. Donations in Walter's memory may be sent to the National Alzheimer's Association. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
