Dear Jodie - My brothers and I have great memories of spending time with your family as kids. Both of my parents (Chuck and Darlene) are gone now so understand what the passing of your father means to you. We were lucky kids to have been blessed with the parents we both had. We also both lost 1 parent way too young. My thoughts are with you. Janna

Willard Fletcher will always be "Mister Fletcher" to me. He was my 7th grade teacher at Ockley Green Grade School in North Portland during the school year 1955-1956. I have to say that Mr. Fletcher was my first real teacher who challenged me and gave me an education that was so very much more than the 3 Rs. It was a miracle assembly of students and our classroom won several competitions between the 7th grade and 8th grade classrooms. Many of his students that year went on to Jefferson High School and then to colleges and universities and a great percentage of them became very successful in their careers. I have always admired Mr. Fletcher and the manner in which he took control of the classroom and made learning an enjoyable adventure. My Jefferson High class of 1960 is having our 50th reunion in a few weeks, and I will proudly propose a toast to Mr. Fletcher at that event. Mr. Fletcher was a wonderful man and a very talented educator. Mike Durrell

Willard was a neighbor of mine at the condos. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a smile and a laugh with a hint of mischief. He was a gentle giant and cared deeply about his family and friends. He is missed here at the condos and will be remembered here for a long time. May he rest in peace.
